EUGINE proposes family definition for acceptance of simulation models for FRT analysis

Following Regulation 2016/631 (RfG NC), Equipment certificates can be used to show that a power generating unit complies with the requirements found in a grid code. Obtaining an equipment certificate from an accredited certification body is an expensive and time-consuming process, involving testing and simulations.
Today, in many countries, in order to obtain individual equipment certificates, manufacturers need to test each variant of their product– in many cases, this requires testing a large quantity of units and performing hundreds of tests with little additional benefit. Therefore, an approach that allows testing a representative model of a same product “family” and applying the results to other variants within that family is required
