EUGINE Joins Call for Renewable and Decarbonised Gas Targets
27 May 2021
Renewable and decarbonised gases will play a decisive role in helping the EU economy reach net-zero. To deliver on the potential of gas to contribute to lowering emissions, the signatories of this joint letter call for an EU policy framework that promotes the production, market uptake and system integration of renewable and decarbonised gases. The main pillars of such a policy framework should be a common target to reduce the GHG intensity of the gaseous energy consumed in 2030 by 20% and a binding target of at least 11% of renewable gases in terms of energy content of gas consumed.
