Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework – EUGINE Input

The new Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) aims to lay down the rules the Commission will apply when assessing state aid measures that EU countries aim to implement to support the objectives of the Clean Industrial Deal.
In our reply to the consultation on the draft CISAF, we welcome the ambition of the European Commission to enhance the competitiveness of European companies by simplifying regulation and reducing energy costs but regret that the draft framework remains too detailed and does not leave much leeway to Member States. We particulary regret that investment support for H2 / RNFBO or H2 Ready power plants would not be considered under this framework.
